Mama (Rita) gave birth to 6 puppies outside of an abandoned house on 9/16/2024. Unfortunately, all but two puppies died within 24 hours. This was the final push for Rita's owners, a homeless mom and her son, to relinquish the surviving family to our rescue. CoPilot Animal Rescue worked with several other rescues to remove more than 7 dogs from the premises. Mama Rita had severe mastitis that developed even before she gave birth and had to be treated immediately.
